Minimalist Wardrobe: Shoes

Hey Babes,

You have seen my first two installments of Minimalist Wardrobe here and here, now we move onto shoes.

Shoes are such a fun way to accessorize a look. You can add a contrasting color shoe, or keep it monochromatic to elongate your legs. Beige or nude colors are always a great budget friendly way to get as much out of your closet as you can on a budget.

What you will need:

These are an essential in every woman’s closet. They are such a cute option to dress up a casual look without making it feel too dressed up. Flats are such comfortable shoes, I like to refer to them as dressy sneakers.

Ways I like to style them: With skinny jeans and a tee, skinny jeans a tee and blazer, skinny jeans and a cardi, leggings a tunic, midi skirt and tee, and pencil skirt and tee.

Heels help you open up your fancier options. These make it easy to dress up an outfit you wear during the day. Just swap out the shoes for night. They work for work, dates, events, things that might need a professional appearance. I like that heels not only elongate your legs, but they lift your booty and you get a little bit of a workout wearing them.

Ways I like to style them: skirt and tee, skinny jeans and a blouse, skinny jeans and a blazer, and with pencil skirts.

We all have those days where we just want to be casual and comfortable but still put together. To be honest that is me 90% of the time. Nike has some really cute options of sneakers that you can wear with just about any outfit including a fun midi skirt. Shop their outlets, you can usually find some at a really inexpensive price. Sneakers are great for running errands, shopping chasing kids around the zoo or aquarium. Another popular option are chucks. They come in so many colors and you can often find them on sale at places like Famous Footwear. If you are on a budget I would highly suggest getting a white pair of chucks or a tan pair of Nike.

Ways I like to wear them: skinny jeans and baseball tee, skinny jeans and graphic tee, pencil skirt and tee with a baseball cap.

Now this part depends on where you live. If you live in a state with snow and rain get a pair of boots. Riding boots, rain boots, whatever suits your style. You will get so much more for you money on that route. Booties won’t protect your feet from the snow, so if your trying to have little shoes as possible then grab some boots.

If you live in warmer climates like California I would recommend booties. Booties are so chic with just about any outfit. Since your not having to deal with snow you really don’t need full coverage boots. If you can afford to have both do it. If you don’t have the money or room for both get which one will work for all seasons for where you live.

Ways I like to wear them: I love wearing either with skirts, jeans, dresses, and rompers.

Sandals come in so many different styles. Find a comfortable simple pair that can be dressed up and dressed down. I know flip flops are always popular but you can’t really dress them up. If you find a more dressed up sandal you can get a lot more out of them. A lace up or gladiator sandal is a great option. Get them in a neutral color, this will aid you in pairing them with multiple outfits.

Ways I like to wear them: Jeans, skirts, dresses, shorts, rompers and jumpsuits.
