Hey Babes,
Aria is growing up way too fast. I always rolled my eyes when people would say they grow up so fast…don’t blink they will be 18 before you know it, but it’s so true. It feels like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital.
I was so stressed that I was going to give birth at my sister’s wedding. Aria was due September 20, my sisters wedding was the 27th. Lucky for us Aria made an early appearance on 9/11. She brought joy to a day that stands for a tragedy.
When coming up for a theme for her party I wanted it to be something she loved and was obsessed with at the moment. She’s in love with ice cream and hot dogs, so I figured maybe this year we can focus on Ice Cream.
I am so partied out. I have planned three parties this year and I ran out of steam. So I browsed pinterest for party ideas. I came across a ice cream sandwich bar party and it was adorable. I went for simple, not every birthday party is going to be over the top and grand..well no in our family.
Decor
The banner took me 10 minutes to make. I used my cricut and cut out these adorable ice cream cones. I found the ice cream bar printable on pinterest as well and printed it off and laminated it.
The ice cream topping bowls are from Amazon I had been searching everywhere for them and my friend Courtney recommended these ones here.
Food
The cookies are from Costco, because then again I am lame and didn’t bake this year. The worked perfectly for the ice cream sandwiches, and were a hit with the Adults more than the kids.
The cake…This cake was a show stopper. Yes it was absolutely adorable, but it was sooooooooo delicious. Aria decided she wanted a banana cake with raspberry filling. I expected a banana flavored white cake and a buttload of frosting. I wasn’t planning on eating any of it. When everyone around me started enjoying the cake they told me I had to try it. It was a real banana bread, and a very light and delicious tasting banana bread. The frosting wasn’t gross fondant, or heavy thick frosting. It was a light whipped frosting that was so yummy. I enjoyed every bite. Aria loved the ice cream part and ate that as her piece.
She had so much fun at her party and enjoyed her cousins and presents. I am so lucky to be surrounded with so many people that love her and watch out for her. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day special.
