I say this project was free because I had all these items around my house. Of course many of you don’t have vinyl, and wood laying around, get creative if you are looking for decor on a budget, reinvent things around your home!
Hey Babes,
I love home decor, it is one of my favorite things to shop for other than clothes. Fixer Upper is one of my guilty pleasures as of lately. I love the farmhouse style, the shabby DIY chic decor is right up my ally.
Pallet signs are so so easy to make and so cheap (practically free) to find. If you go to any warehouse or business they will more than likely give you their pallets.
Supplies
- paint
- pallets
- vinyl
- vinyl cutting machine or stencil
Pallet Sign
We pulled apart a pallet and pieced it together securing it to wood pieces. I like having the pieces separated a bit and weathered. If that is not your style you can use wood glue and clamp the wood together.
I have a few pints of white paint sitting around the house so I used some of that to paint the front of the pallet sign. It will take one or two coats pending the coverage of your paint. Let dry completely
Now hop on your computer you can use this SVG file I made (font) (webs) or you can create your own on whatever software you use to cut.
Make sure your vinyl cutter is hooked up to your computer and cut the vinyl according to size.
Transfer tape is the easiest way to get your vinyl onto your sign, or you can arrange the letters yourself. It is up to you and what you have available.
Make sure the vinyl is placed down and stuck to the surface. Rub out any air bubbles, or use a small pin to let out the air.
If you don’t have access to a vinyl cutting machine you can very easily hand paint these letters. Sketch them out, or print out a stencil for yourself cut out the letters with a scalpel and paint away.
I would love to see pictures of your finished pallet projects. Post them to my facebook and I may feature them in my next decor post!
