I am sharing my tips on how to wear hats for fall.
Hats are one of my favorite accessories for fall. They really transform an outfit from casual to casual chic. They just add a little something to the outfit.
You saw me style this amazing sweater last week with a skirt here. I wanted to show you an alternate way to style this amazing and soft sweater with a hat.
Find similar colors either in your outfit or your shoes.
-This helps bring the outfit together and add a cohesive but chic flair. If you wear a black hat with a brown tie around it you can have a brown pair of booties or bag to tie it together. In this outfit I paired a similar color sweater to match my hat, and paired it with a cute pair of skinny jeans.
Style your hair in a braid or loose curl.
-Styling your hair for your hat is one way to really add a chic element to your look. I love a gorgeous braid with my hats. Or in this outfit I had two braids. It just really adds to the fall look.
When trying on hats to buy look for something that compliments the shape of your face.
-Right now wide brimmed hats are in. A big hat and loose sweaters with booties are fall outfit favs.
Felt hats are chic but require maintenance.
-One simple trick to a felt hat with pilling, use a razor and shave the parts that need to be smoothed.
Find hats in your color
-If your a warm tone find warm colors, if your a cool tone find hats that are cool. You can also never go wrong in neutral colors like black, beige, and dark brown.
I found this sweater at The Nest Boutique, and it was the last one. This sweater is beyond amazing. I cannot express to you all how soft and adorable this sweater is. I am in love with not only the color, shape but also the fabric.
Loose, oversized sweaters should be paired with a tight bottom like skinny jeans or a tight pencil skirt. If you pair loose with loose it can look a little baggy and goes to the frumpy side.
Shopping for booties I never pay over $40 for a pair. They come and go in and out of style so fast you really can’t always get what you pay for with them. I fell in love with a pair at Nordstrom that I could not afford. They were gorgeous and I thought about them daily. While I was browsing Jane.com I came across a pair that looked almost exactly like them at a fraction of the price.
