Good Morning Babes,
Brandon and I have been wanting to start going on adventures with Aria on the weekends. Get us out of the house and out doing things as a family.
My Dad told us about these cool tunnels and showed us a youtube video. We googled Slant Road and discovered it wasn’t too far of a drive. About an hour. So we made plans, loaded up the car and went on a journey.
The trail is about a 45-minute drive, with only part of it being in the tunnel. It is an old abandoned railroad track.
The drive was actually nice for the first part Aria was entertained we try to keep her chatting and looking out the windows before we offer a device. It was a nice little time away from home, away from devices and go as a family. That is the point of these little adventures.
If you are a Utah local I would love to know cool little trips you take. We are always looking for adventures. So comment below with your favorites!
We had a little issue finding it at first but we google maps it and got back on course. The tunnel is not big at all but it is really really cool. You get to see the dynamite blast marks from when they blasted the tunnel out.
Aria loved running through the tunnel and it was really neat to see and be in.
The tunnel is short so if have tunnel anxiety like I do its a quick trip and you’re out of the tunnel maybe 200 feet.
We really enjoyed the drive there and the drive through the tunnels.
Was it worth the drive?
It totally was worth it. It’s a fun little adventure for the family. Aria was entertained until we got lost. She didn’t have any devices just talking and looking out the window. Much like my adventures as a child.
You guys should def look up Slant Road! What a fun little Saturday adventure.
