I live for fall decor, mostly Halloween, so I start decorating for it right as September hits.
My go to places to shop for Halloween decor are Target, At Home, Home Goods, and Amazon. You can find so many cool decorations for any budget at these stores. If you are on a budget hit up the clearance and dollar spots first. Target always has so many cute seasonal items.
*Target tip, they now have Bullseye’s Playground (dollar spot) online* you do have to buy in a bulk load though so usually that is 3-5 of the same item. Which is usually no problem you need that many anyway right!?
I always like to change things up, not necessarily always buy new things, but change the layout of how I decorate. Last year I decorated my mantle like this (last year Halloween), and this year I decorated it like this.
My front sitting room is sharing the space with my piano so I add just a few other touches to the decor.
Throw pillows can be an inexpensive way to decorate. This pillow was $5 at the Target dollar spot.
Letterboards are an easy piece of decor to change up through the holidays. You can make a funny quote or song lyrics for the room. I love that letter boards are so popular right now.
I added fun little touches to my wreaths that hang on my shutters. A cute little pumpkin and raven that I got at the dollar store really add a fun Halloween touch.
That completes my front room!
The porch does get pricey when you start, but as you collect things over the years it soon becomes almost free to decorate. I took a trip to Micheals for their BOGO deals and got these three galvanized tins, and wine barrel, for under $40.
Add some cute hay bails, $6 flowers, and pumpkins you grew yourself and tada you have a porch! I want a cute buffalo print rug for under my doormat, but I cannot find a size I like and I am not about to spend $60 on a porch rug, not yet anyhow.
The Bucket List
I am huge into bucket lists. They make the holidays fun, help you get out and do things you normally didn’t think to do. I found this bucket list on Bucket Bella and fell in love with the huge reminder I face each time I walk out the door. You get a custom print and print it off at your local print shop!
The kitchen stays pretty simple with decor. I am always cooking and making a huge mess so I don’t want too much going on. I keep most my decor to the front of the house, where you get most eyes and attention on your hard work.
We are still trying to finish decorating and furnishing our home so I do watch the budget a bit more when it comes to decorating the whole house for Halloween..but one day..it will be a Haunted Mansion muahahaha.
That is pretty much it, I keep things simple, budget-friendly but to me, I think it looks really cute. How do you guys decorate for Halloween?
