Good Morning Friends,
I have been cruelty-free for about four years now, maybe even longer I can’t quite remember when I started. Through trial and error of a bunch of products, I have finally found some of my favorite.
You can always find a cruelty free option for everything you use if you have your favorites that aren’t cruelty free that is totally your prerogative. No judgments here.
Everything I buy I scan with my happy bunny scanner app, I also research it. Often times items will say they are cruelty-free here in the states but if they sell in China they cannot be 100% cruelty-free. Look for the leaping bunny logo, that will help as well.
I know we are on the subject of household items but I am so excited that Dove and CoverGirl have both become cruelty-free! Yay more options to shop from.
Let’s get started
ECOS Laundry Detergent
I love this laundry detergent. You can find it at Sam’s Club or Costco and it’s not a budget buster. The magnolia and lily one is my favorite I love how it smells and it’s just a great detergent. My clothes come out soft, and it’s great on stains. Aria got a bloody nose the other night and got blood all over her really cute white and mint mermaid bedding.
I thought that we would for sure have to toss the blankets, but this detergent got all the blood out. They have so many other products I want to try but the detergent is a must for me.
Mrs. Meyers All Purpose Cleaner
I love Mrs. Meyers all purpose cleaner. It is a great smelling, wonderful cleaner that is leaping bunny certified. Now I did not like the floral scents from Mrs. Meyers, the lemon verbena is my personal favorite. The floral ones smell a little too floral for my liking. They work the same, but the scent is a killer for me. I am so scent sensitive.
Young Living Dish Thieves Dish Soap
You guys seriously I am not a crazy oil person. Brandon started working in their corporate office just this year and brings us home goodies. Who knew that young living literally has a product for everything? He brought home the thieves dish soap and I really liked how worked. It smells nice, my hands aren’t brutalized when hand washing a few things here and there. I really really like how it cleans. We also have hard water, so it helps with the water spots.
Hand Soap
Mrs. Meyers takes it again in the hand soap department. I love the mint or apple scents and they are fairly inexpensive. Target usually has them on sale as well and you can even order them on boxed.com.
Glass Cleaner
For this, I just used alcohol, vinegar, and water. That works best for the glass in our house. I have yet to find a glass cleaner that is cruelty-free and streak free. So if you have one you love please send your favorites my way!
Disinfectants
Seventh Generation is a great disinfectant product. I love that they are vegan and they have so many different products. Now, these can be a bit pricey so you do have to shop for them on sale, and when I mean pricey I mean more expensive than the other brands that can be a couple bucks. Target generally does sales for them so sometimes I just stock up during those times. I spray our doorknobs light switches and table tops with this stuff.
Toothpaste
Tom’s of Maine is my favorite. Not only does it work well, but they also have great kid versions both with fluoride and without. I order mine from Amazon most of the time they usually have a coupon and a 3 pack I can purchase for cheaper than any of my local stores. Sometimes my grocery store will be cheaper but not usually. They have different flavors and types. I really love them all.
Well, there is my list. If I missed anything or if you have any questions about the products don’t hesitate to comment or shoot me an email!
