Good Morning Everyone!
Here in Utah it rains and snows quite often. Of course, often I stay indoors and hide out in my leggings. On the occasion I have to adult and go out in the world this is how I style myself. Winter fashion is all about layers…warm layers.
Leggings or joggers are my go-to for stormy days. They are warm, comfortable and you can style them in so many different ways. So when the weather is bad I want to be comfortable when out and about.
My favorite leggings ever are the Zella live in leggings. I bought mine on sale from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I love them. They are thick, warm, pass the squat test, and they are sooo soft. The price is worth it, but get it on sale if it’s a budget breaker. I got mine for $25.
Camisole or Tank
Layers will be your friend! I even wear those layering tee’s from Downiest when it’s really cold and I want more warmth. Often I wear my trusty black camisole I have had for eons. Back when Wet Seal was a thing…ya that ages me.
When shopping for a layering tank or cami do not get thin cotton. You will wear a hole in that faster than you can say brr. Get a nylon spandex blend. It stretches with you, lasts longer through washes and will stay put. At least that’s how its worked out for me.
I think often people confuse the two. Flannel is the type of fabric. It’s a warm soft fabric that often your plaid shirts are made from. Plaid is the design. I love finding flannel plaid tops. They are so warm and you can style them effortlessly and with just about anything. I love this one I have had for a few years from Forever 21. It covers the bum I can wear it layered or on its own.
I love hunters and would love to own a pair, but it’s a budget breaker for me so I found Kamik boots on Amazon that are so cute, I get compliments on them all the time and get this they are under $40. Kamik boots come in so many different colors, much like a hunters dupe. I love the quality and the fit. This will not only keep your feet warm, but it will also protect your pants, and they are waterproof. I absolutely love them for the winter months here in Utah.
Warm Fuzzy Socks
Target and TJ Maxx are my secret weapon for warm fuzzy socks they always have them super inexpensive and they are cute. Often the Target dollar spot has them for $1, TJ Maxx often has them under $5. They are def a need for the cold seasons.
Finding a good quality but inexpensive coat was a daunting task. I know they are worth the money and investment, but I needed a coat quickly and it was too close to Christmas to break the bank so I found a Madden Girl coat on clearance at Macy’s. This coat was only $47 and it is WARM. I love this coat so much. The pockets are ample, the hood is huge I could fit another person in the hood. I don’t think I need to buy a more expensive coat later on because this one is amazing, especially for the price.
You can find these for as low as $3, especially when the winter season winds down. I love the CC brand and still need to purchase one. I found this Utah one from Sam’s Club for super inexpensive and I wear it a lot. This is a go-to hat, or I grab a wide-brimmed hat.
That’s my snowy/rainy day outfit. A simple guide for you to create your own cozy but chic stormy weather outfit. Is this how your dress for days you have to venture out in the weather?
