Good Morning Friends,
Ok..yes Valentines Day is a very commercial holiday so if it’s not something you celebrate I 100% understand. We are reigning it in a little bit on how we celebrate it as well.
Lately we just do a progressive dinner for Valentines Day. We start out somewhere to get an appetizer, then our entree, then our drinks, and lastly dessert. Usually we go to Red Robin for fries and fry sauce, Village Baker for sandwiches, Sodalicious for drinks and we also get our cookies there. We change it up each time but that was our last V-Day dinner.
If you like to purchase a small gift for your kids or spouse that is perfectly fine as well. I wanted to show you some cute budget friendly gifts for the holidays and tips on shopping under budget.
Tips
-Always check the dollar spot at Target. It always has holiday decor, and trinkets, especially for kids.
-Create a budget and STICK TO IT.
-Amazon Prime, search for things on prime. Free shipping, and you don’t have to waste gas looking for gifts.
-Keep it simple, its a simple holiday, no need to go over board. One of my favorite gifts from Brandon was a pair of slippers and a movie. Keep things simple. Even a hand written card goes a long way.
Now for the Gifts
-Candy:
Now I don’t always recommend candy but occasionally a small treat doesn’t hurt. For families with a few kids I recommend those cute little boxes or bags that are under $3 each. This way you can shop for everyone under budget, and you don’t acquire a new toy to clutter space.
-Socks/ Under Garments:
Target has some really cute, sexy even underwear for both men and women. It is a romantic holiday so why not spice it up with something new and sexy for your partner. Also who doesn’t love a comfy pair of new socks? I know I always love getting socks.
-Kits:
We love Oreos around our house, I actually really want to buy that Oreo kit for Brandon and I. A mug with can be so cute filled with candy. So if you can find inexpensive mugs and use one bag of candy you can easily get gifts for the family under $15.
-Toys/crafts/
I try to keep away from these because we are in the year of decluttering. So new things that take up space are something I am trying to keep away from. You can do a craft that you need for a holiday decoration or such. It is fun to do and create memories with.
-Cards
My favorite gift to get is a handwritten card. Now don’t get shy on these. Let your spouse know how much you love them and why. What your favorite part of them is, what their best physical attribute is and mental.
