Good Morning Friends!
For the past year and a half, my skin has hated me. I never had acne ever, but it got so bad on my chin and cheeks. My skin was pretty much crap. I tried everything, I went without makeup for a week to give my skin a break and that did absolutely nothing. So I went to my skin Yoda, my older sister.
She asked me my issues, were my pimples forming heads, where were they forming and what was my current routine. I gave her all my information and she suggested with my sensitive skin to get rid of the toner I was using and to find a cleanser that would help balance my PH levels.
I have extremely dry and sensitive skin. Two of the worst skin issues in the world. Also, I had to make sure my products were affordable, accessible via Amazon, and would be acceptable to my skin. Now I will be 100% honest I am usually ? cruelty-free with my beauty routine. I was saddened to find out Bioderma is not cruelty-free. Now that my skin is calm I can now look for a cruelty-free version. I feel horrible and guilty for using it because I am very much a proponent for cruelty-free products.
Let’s Get Started on my routine!
Morning
With my skin cleansing, twice a day strips my face of moisture. So I do most of my skincare at night. In the morning I do a cotton pad of makeup remover, and a little bit of moisturizer. I keep things simple because I don’t have a lot of time to get ready in the morning.
Night
This is where my skincare is in play.
-Step 1:
Remove Makeup with a makeup remover. I use a gentle cotton pad because my sensitive skin freaks out to brushes or any type of wipe or cloth. Right now I am using Bioderma, but found out they weren’t cruelty-free so I am moving to the Pacifica Coconut Water Cleansing Tonic. Hopefully, my skin likes that as much as the Bioderma.
-Step 2:
I hop in the shower and cleanse my skin again with a cleanser. I love the low Ph Cleansing Milk by Cosrx. It is a cruelty-free cleanser and I love how gentle it is on my overly sensitive skin.
-Step 3:
This happens every two days I exfoliate. Skinfood has some really great exfoliators. My sister taught me to exfoliate on clean skin. That way crap and makeup don’t get trapped in your pores.
-Step 4:
I am out of the shower now and I moisturize. I love the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. This has so much hydration and I love how it helps trap the moisture. It is a bit more expensive but it will last you a few months. You use it sparingly because a little goes a long way. They do sell them in smaller quantities as well if you need it to be at a certain price point.
If I could use facial oil I would apply that prior to my moisturizer, but I have eyelash extensions and oil with compromise the bond.
That’s it. I found all these products sans the First Aid Beauty Cream on Amazon. You can find First Aid Beauty at Ulta or Sephora. I am in love with this routine. It has helped my skin get back to its normal self. I have only had two or three pimples since starting this routine and that was all hormonal.
Thank you, Adrienne my skin Yoda for helping me design this routine.
