Good Morning Friends,
So we are trying to get our house together room by room. I talk all about how we do that in my mudroom post and in my living room post. Everything we do we do little by little, paycheck by paycheck.
This most recent I order I picked up a few things that helped bring some empty areas together.
Let’s get started.
Side Table
The first purchase was this cute side table. We got these couches in our last home and we love them, but I like how it looks a certain way which made a big gap between the couch. I wanted to add a side table between the two for a decor element and a functional one. I spruced it up with a plant and some coffee table books.
Plant
I cannot keep plants alive, and I have cats so I can’t keep real plants around the house. There were a few plants that I added to my cart like this one, and this one, but the Ficus tree won. I like the height of the plant and what it does to the area. Now you can just let it stand alone but it looks better in a planter.
Planter
Now I was a little bummed when I first got this stand. I looked one for with a pot and this description didn’t have “pot not included” when I purchased it. I kept it anyway and found a really cute 10 inch pot from Target for $6. It looks so cute all together and I love how it spruces up this bland corner.
Now that you have seen some items I have I want to show you what I plan to get next for around the house.
Bed
We have been looking for a cute new bed for Aria. We love her house bed but after the earthquake we wanted to find something more stable and safe for her. Of course on a budget we were looking for a bed under $200.
Wallpaper
We have a command center between our living room and kitchen that needs a little sprucing up so I wanted to add an accent wall to the area to break up the rooms. We used this wallpaper in our pantry and I love it. It is so easy to do and it helps transform an area without any paint. I actually found this at Target but you can get it from Amazon.
Floating Shelves
In the same area I wanted to add floating shelves for design, and function. You can’t go wrong with storage so when you can create a shelf about an area for more storage do it!
That’s it for now. I would love to know some of your favorite places to shop for affordable home decor.
