Good Morning Friends!
It’s back to school season and I am so sad I have a preschooler. This is our last year together and I am so sad she keeps growing up on me.
We love back to school in our family. My mom would always taking us shopping for school supplies and we would sometimes get $100 for clothes. It was always fun to head to the mall with my sisters and my mom to shop for new clothes. This is a tradition I have continued with Aria.
Back to school Clothes
We shopped for Aria’s back to school clothes online at Fabkids.com. You have seen me rave about them on a few different posts (here and here) and it’s not because they sometimes send us items its because I love them. I am a VIP member that I purchased myself. It is only $29.95 a month to be a member, and that money goes straight into shopping credit. You can skip a month without being charged anything. That is what I love about this program. It is much like the Fabletics program that I love as well.
There are so many cute outfits and deals to choose from every month. They provide a style that will match your kids personality. I really love their clothing!
Old Navy and Target are another go to for back to school. If you go to Target you can get your supplies, and your clothing all in one place. The one thing that I don’t like about Target clothing is they aren’t as much fun as the clothing from Fabkids, but they are still cute.
What are some of you favorite clothing stores to shop for back to school?

Back to School Supplies
When I was going to school we didn’t have supplies lists so we only would go get like little extras we wanted. Now days you have a list for our rock start teachers to help supply their class rooms. I have been stock piling since I was pregnant with Aria so I would be prepared and could donate extras.
You can find your schools lists (here)
So when I shop if you have the money by double so you can help stock the classrooms. If you can’t afford to do that find the things you can afford to donate. Also if you are in need of donations please reach out to the district and ask for help.
We love shopping Target and Smith’s for our back to school supplies, lots of people love Walmart for their lists.

So for pricing I wish I were the master in back to school pricing but I’m not. I know a few price points sometimes you will find them for this price sometimes a little more or a little less it depends on the supply and demand that year.
Price points for items
Notebooks: Do not pay over .25 a book. I have sometimes been able to grab them for .10 from Walmart or Smith’s Marketplace.
Crayons: Do not pay over .50 for a 24 pack. The lowest I have paid for them was .25 at Smiths Marketplace.
Pencils and Pens: The lowest I have paid is $1 for a pack of 10 for both. If you don’t mind the store brand always check those out first. They are usually cheaper.
Markers: I have paid as low as .75 before at Target but that was when they were clearing out all the stock and the colors were just the basic colors. I wouldn’t pay more than $1.
Colored Pencils: I stock up on these for myself as well. I use them for sketching so we really grab for these. Don’t pay over .75 the goal is usually .50 or cheaper.
Portfolios: Shoot for .50, I have seen them for .24-.30
Glue Sticks: .29-.74 look again for the off brand we like the up and up brand they work just as well from Target.
Glue: There was a rare time where I paid .10 for glue I think it was the up and up brand and it was the clearing out phase of back to school supplies.
Backpacks: You can get really cute backpack from Walmart for under $20. I love their backpack sales we also stock up on backpacks for bug out bags or emergency supplies.
Watercolor Paints: We shoot for .75 don’t pay over $1
Pencil Pouches: You can get cheap ones for $1, but don’t pay over $5 even if they are really cute.
Tape: Get your tape from the dollar spot or the dollar store and stock up for Christmas. Tape almost doubles in price around the holidays.
Binders: I go for the .99 binders, try to stay close to that do not pay over $1.50.
I would love to hear your back to school tips, tricks and traditions! Did I miss something or do you have a better price point for the items listed above? Let me know.
