Can you tell that we love Halloween? We have so many Halloween books and more coming. Not only is our favorite holiday to decorate and celebrate, it’s our favorite to read.
We love all of our books and I will list them all below but I wanted to share my favorite Halloween stories.
Gus was a friendly ghost
This is a pretty old book, but I love it so much. Gus is such a cute character that only helps kids not have a fear of them but just brings a fun element to a story. It was one of my favorites growing up and Aria loves this book as well.
Frank was a monster who wanted to dance
My mother-in-law gave Aria this book and it’s a funny book about a monster who falls apart as he follows a dream of dancing on stage. It is such a cute rhyming book that is such a great silly book for bedtime.
A dark dark tale
Another great story with a twist at the end. Aria loves to memorize each step of this book. It has a cat that looks like her cat Mushu so it ties it to home for her. The book is short so it’s a great story for a quick bedtime book.
Room On the Broom
This is such a cute book, and Netflix made the book into a short film and it is adorable. The narrator reads the story while the characters act out each scene so its basically a book on film type of thing. The book is fun, and teaches a cute lesson. Love this book!
The Haunted Mansion
Aria’s Disney fairies brought this one to her while we were in Disneyland. She loves the song so much I hoped on Amazon to try and find the book. The book is the lyrics to the song with illustrations. It is one of her new favorites.
Ghost in the House
My friend Sarah told me about this book and I found it on Amazon. It really is such a cute book. Teaches counting and patterns while sharing a funny story. I love when a book can take something scary and make it fun.
Cinderella Skeleton
This is such a cute story with a darker take on the Cinderella story. Aria loves the skeleton, and the happy ending. It’s on the darker side of things but still a good story for kids. Skeletons are Aria’s favorite things so it really is a perfect book for her.
Those are our favorites! I will list all the books we own below and make them stoppable for you. There is no such thing as too many books, I encourage you to get as many as you can for your little ones. It really serves a great purpose. I try to snag a book as prizes for her for doing chores, or her preschool with a good attitude and once a month I leave one under her pillow as just a token of my love for her. She loves it and my mom did that occasionally when we were kids.
What are some of your favorite Halloween books? We are always looking for more.
