We are currently working on our basement, and I am so excited to design a space with Brandon.
There is so much I want to do down there to increase storage space, to give Aria a future escape and to provide a fun place to hang out and entertain parties.
The more bedrooms you can comfortably fit in a home the better chance you have to resale. We found this out when we had a two bedroom town home before this house. It was hard to sell because everyone wanted more rooms. More space.
So we laid out two bedroom down there. They have a decent amount of space and storage space. I wanted to keep it simple, with closet space.
In searching for furniture for these rooms I wanted to keep things neutral so it can be styled with whatever colors Aria or any future kids may want to use for the room.
Bathrooms are important so we are adding a small bathroom downstairs for the two bedrooms. I want it to be chic, bathrooms are a place of calm where you go and wash of the day. So we wanted it to be a nice big shower and lots of counter space. Girls need counter space. So if Aria moves to the basement she has this chic cute bathroom to go into.
Now for the one part of the house I am most excited for. The Theatre room. It won’t be big or anything special but it will be a place we can watch games, have date nights, or binge parties. We love watching movies and tv shows so it’s place that will get a lot of use.
Being on a budget we want to keep things pretty simple. We wanted to like go big and get luxury theatre seating but looking at the pricing…that can’t and won’t happen. We want to spend our money on tech, and save on the seating and decor.
