Good Morning Friends, I am so excited to share with you my nursery mood board. I got to go to my anatomy scan this week and I got to see my sweet little nugget. He has the cutest little profile and I just cannot wait to hold him.
For his nursery I am reusing as much as I can from Aria’s. Her’s was little mermaid. So I am going with an adventure/modern Neverland theme. Focusing on the nautical and tribal side of Peter Pan. We have Native American in our blood and I want him to have that as a part of his room.
Let’s get started.
Shelf decor
So we got this adorable boat shelf for Aria,(her room post here) and I am going to repaint it blue and add cute little trinkets that resemble things from Peter Pan, things you will find in Neverland.
I am thinking like a cute little ship, teddy bear, crocodile and of course the notorious clock. I found these cute little message in a bottles from amazon that would look cute and maybe fill one of the bottles with some sand.
There are some really cute custom globes on Pinterest I want to recreate with a quote from Peter Pan. Like this one.
Wall Decor
I found some really cute maps on Etsy, I want to fill this room with as much Etsy stuff as possible. Right now with the quarantine I want my money to be going to small businesses. As much as I love amazon and Target I want this nursery to have really cute hand made items.
I found this watercolor searching for the maps and fell in love with it. I also came across these dictionary pages that would fit the rooms esthetic.
Of course, I had to find an adventure cut out to go on one of the walls. I feel like it really ties the room together and I love love love the font.
We all have dream catchers in our rooms so I wanted to include that tradition in little mans room. I won’t be buying one my dad is hopefully going to teach me how to make our own. He’s made all of ours so far and I love having that added touch of love to our home.
We have some floating shelves left from Aria’s old nursery we will leave up for some filler pieces. Seashells, a little wooden dagger and this cute felt Peter Pan hat.
Color Palette
I wanted to keep the nursery pretty neutral without any wild colors. So I am just stinking with the traditional navy blue, browns, and white. The faux leather will bring the brown element and add another texture into the mix. I love a room with textures, and a mix of different tones.
Bedding
Babies poop, and I refuse any type of light bedding for babies. I learned my lesson with Aria. Thankfully she only ever had one blow out in her bed but I chose to go with dark bedding for this guy. I found some soft navy blue sheets I really love. I am also looking at some really cute Neverland blankets from a shop called Sweet Ellie Sue. They have some really adorable Disney baby swaddles.
Babies and pillows don’t mix but I want to get a few cute throw pillows for when he’s not in the crib. None of us sleep with throw pillows it’s just a design thing. It makes a room look put together.
Curtains
I searched Etsy for drapes and couldn’t find any that I liked more than the one I found on Amazon. There is something I love about a patterned curtain.
I hope you guys like this room, I am in love with it. We are still working on furniture pieces and what we want in there, but I am sure you will see a finished post eventually. Four months left so I need to go get working on that.
