I know most of you ladies who were expecting a shower this year had a huge hole blown in your plans. Thanks to Covid I know a lot of my friends are either doing virtual showers or just forgoing them all-together. It is sad because showers are so helpful to stocking your babies closet, or getting things that you really need.
If you are able to have a virtual shower or some sort of social distancing shower you want a cute outfit. Always check your closet first for things you can reuse, especially if you are on a budget. There are always ways to reuse something you already have to cut back on wasteful spending, and creating more clothing pollution.
With maternity clothing I know a lot of us don’t have anything we can reuse in our closet. I do not spend a lot on maternity clothing when I am pregnant. I usually have a pair of shorts, a pair of pants, a few shirts and maybe two dresses. If you are in that position you can always shop places like Thread Up for gently used clothing. (Not Sponsored)
Now if you can’t find options to any of the above places I rounded up some affordable Dresses that work for Baby Showers or even your Maternity Photos.
Let’s get started!
When looking for a dress look for something you feel comfortable in. You are beautiful, you have this beautiful bump so show it off. I love a good flowy dress and some comfortable sandals for the summer. Both my babies are summer babies so you want to stay cool.
Maxi dresses are a great way to go if you have swollen ankles or feet. You can get away with wearing whatever under your dress. For Covid if you are doing a virtual shower you only have to worry about your upper half anyway. I have always been a firm believer that you can be comfortable and chic.
The first outfit on the picture above is my absolute favorite. I would take out the heels though and add a comfortable sandal but this dress is gorgeous and perfect for a shower no matter what the gender is. You don’t have to dress in pink or blue for your shower.
I have linked some of my favorite dresses below. Stay on budget, or reuse. There is no shame in being resourceful and eco-friendly by shopping secondhand, borrowing from a friend, or shopping your closet.
