Today we are talking about how to get creative with your closet. There are just some really easy simple steps you can do this. Also get more from your closet by watching my segment on Good Things Utah HERE.
Let’s get started!
Use items unconventionally
This “maxi cardigan” is actually a button up dress. Who said it had to be only that right?! Getting creative with pieces you have will help you up your style game and get you more for your money. This not only helps you get more out of the items you own, it helps you style more items together when you can shop for more.
Layer
Layer up! Layering pieces isn’t only fun but it’s a great way to make a style statement. Mix patterns, mix textures! This not only looks stylish, it keeps you warm and it helps you get a lot more bang for your buck. Layering up is so easy and so fun. For example grab a t-shirt, a button up plaid shirt and a jacket. Easy and stylish.
Use clothing items as accessories
Don’t want to bother with a belt tie a plaid top around your waist. Also it’s a fun way to introduce a pattern to a monochromatic outfit. Then have fun pattern mixing with your shoes. Or you can use a pencil skirt as a scarf, just scrunch it up and put it over your head. It really is fun to get creative with your clothing items.
Tie a top over your dress
You see me do it all the time. It brings character to a boring piece, it breathes life back into an item you at not have worn in a while and it gives you more options to style with. This takes any dress you have and turns it into a fun skirt and outfit. This is one of my favorite tricks for a budget friendly closet.
